In this recipe, I use beef with herbs and spices, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and fresh baby spinach. Do not hesitate to indulge yourself with this recipe for homemade burgers, both in terms of bread (adding seeds, spices such as curry or turmeric) or why not a little beet juice to obtain breads. a pretty purple color! Very Fun! When to garnish burgers, make your “patties” or enhanced steaks easily by adding spices, onion or chopped herbs like coriander or tarragon.

List of ingredients

For the buns or homemade breads:

  • 500 g flour
  • 100 ml milk
  • 150 ml of water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 C. teaspoon salt
  • 3 tbsp. coffee sugar
  • 2 tbsp. dehydrated
  • baker’s yeast
  • 30g butter
  • Sesame or poppy seeds

For garnish :

  • Onions
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Fresh coriander
  • Spinach shoots
  • Sliced ​​cheddar
  • Ground beef
  • Provence herbs
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Tabasco

Recipe steps

To make the breads:

  • Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar by hand or in a food processor
  • Gradually add the lukewarm water and milk then the egg
  • Beat for a few minutes to obtain a homogeneous ball of dough
  • Add the softened butter and continue kneading for 2 minutes
  • Let the dough ball rise for 1 hour at room temperature
  • Flour the work surface and the top of the dough and flatten it with your hands to obtain a thickness of 1 cm and a half
  • Use a cookie cutter to cut the dough rounds
  • Arrange the buns on a baking sheet and brush them with the egg and water mixture, add the seeds, flattening well with the palm of your hand
  • Let the buns rise again for 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature
  • Put in the oven at 200 ° with a bowl of water for 20 minutes
  • Let cool before garnishing

For garnish :

  • Cut an onion into small cubes and mix it with the meat
  • Add the Provence herbs, Worcestershire sauce, tabasco, pepper and finely chopped coriander
  • Mix everything with your hands to obtain a homogeneous mixture
  • Shape the steaks with a cookie cutter with a pusher, for example, or by hand
  • Brown an onion in a pan with olive oil, add a tbsp of vinegar and a tbsp of sugar
  • Leave to caramelize for a few minutes
  • Cook the steaks in a pan with olive oil for 1 minute on each side
  • Slice the buns in half and brush the bases and caps with olive oil
  • Garnish the bases of the buns with a bed of onions, arrange the steak then a slice of cheddar
  • Pass under the grill at 200 ° in the upper part of the oven for 4 minutes, watching
  • When leaving the oven, add a slice of tomato and the spinach leaves and cover with the hats
